Code Geass: Akito The Exiled- Anime Review

I have already reviewed Code Geass and it still is one of my all time favorite anime. Today I'd like to review a story that took place between season 1 and 2 of Code Geass, the OVA(original video animation), Akito the Exiled. As you can see from the box art, it features new and returning characters. How will this hold up to Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion?

The Plot

Leilia Malcal is the W-0 commander of the European Army, and they completed dangerous missions with Lieutenant Akito Hyuga. They are fighting the Britannian army and risk to lose more than lives. A dark power threatens everything they are working for.

Review

I thought this was just a spin off, but it does feature what happened with Lelouch and Suzaku in between season 1 and 2. Akito and Leilia as our main stars this time are great along with the rest of the European Army. It's nice to see what is going on in the Code Geass universe besides Japan. I feel like the hole in between season 1 and 2 is filled, but also expands the universe at the same time. If you wanted to see what really happened in between season 1 and 2 and want a fresh look at how Europe is doing in the Britannian chaos then give this OVA series a watch.
