Gargantia on The Verdurous Planet- Anime Review

At one time I had a Netflix account(before the prices went up a couple years ago to nearly 15 a month), and it had some anime I never heard of before like this one. This is a nice short series(12 eps) on a fish out of water story featuring the future of our planet?

The Plot

Ledo a soldier from the Galactic Alliance of Humankind crashes onto a planet that seems to be nothing but ocean. His robot spaceship is too damaged for him to go back so Ledo is stuck in a world he doesn't even know the language. He also has lived his whole life in battle so doesn't know how to get along with these new people. A young girl decides to show Ledo the ropes on how to live not as a soldier but as a citizen.

My Review

This anime is amazing, I love it. The perfect society of The Galactic Alliance of Humankind is too perfect and makes a great contrast to the people that live on the Gargantia who are like a family. This is a great anime to watch to see how far humanity might go for perfection in the far future and if it will go too far. I find this anime to be very thought provoking sometimes due to it's setting and world it creates. If you are into science fiction on futuristic worlds then I'd give this a watch.
