Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban - Gamecube Review

It's been a while since our last Harry Potter GameCube entry and now it's finally time for Year 3. I remember beating this once and declaring it my favorite of the Harry Potter GameCube entries, but maybe my feelings have changed since then. I hope it is at least as good as the past 2 games.

Plot

Sirius Black has escaped Azkaban and it is said Harry is his next target. Harry, Ron and Hermione have to survive another year at Hogwarts.

Gameplay

Like the previous 2 games, this is an exploration game where you attend classes, use magic and solve puzzles to complete tasks. This time, you may be asked to control Ron and Hermione as well.

Review

I truly enjoyed this game and went out of my way to collect all the wizard cards. Is it far better than the other 2 I played? No, but it is on par maybe a tad better and the fact each of the trio has special abilities makes it so you can't win with Harry alone. Ron and Hermione even got their own challenges to do alone now and then. It's great to have the trio all involved. Everything else is fairly par for the course, exploring Hogwarts, learning spells by deathly dungeons to get a spellbook, and the cheesy cut scenes. If you loved the previous entries you won't be disappointed with Year 3.
