Japan Crate April 2019- Mystery Box Review

Japan Crate is a subscription box where you can get Japanese snacks, candy, and drinks shipped straight from Japan to you. The boxes come in 3 sizes Mini(5 items for $10 a month), Original(10 items for $25 a month) and Premium(18 items for $35). As usual we'll be reviewing the Premium size for the 5th time!

Mini Tier Level- These are the items you would get for the mini box level(5 items for $12 a month).
Pride Potato Tea Salt- matcha powdered covered chips
They don't taste that much different from normal chips but they do taste nice.
Rilakkuma Gummy
I got red apple flavored, the other possible option was green apple. The red apple flavor just taste just like a nice crisp apple.
Ika Ashi Arare- crispy squid snack
These are strange to me the texture is like a crispy cheeto like snack but they taste a meaty taste(I'm assuming the squid). I'm unsure I like the squid flavor due to the fact it's so foreign to me.
Grape Sonomanma- 1 in 3 chance of sour gum
These are just like the peach ones I had in the previous box where one of the 3 is extremely sour while the other 2 are sweet, only in this case they are grape flavored.I loved the sweet, and the sour ones of this grape flavor.
Rilakkuma gum- soda flavored gum
It is a mild tasting gum with a slight sprite soda flavor.

Original Tier-You would get these items and Mini tier items if you subscribed to Original Tier(10 items for $25 a month including a DIY kit)
Okashi Na Mizu Ame(DIY Candy)- ramune, strawberry, lemon, and grape flavors
I find it strange that the ramune, strawberry, and lemon flavors combined get to be grape flavored. I did like mixing the flavored gels together to make the grape flavored gel.
Cheetos cheese- Japanese version of the classic Cheetos
The cheese taste is different but not bad. I will say it is not cheddar cheese maybe it is gouda cheese, as I have heard it is a popular cheese in Japan(I learned this from the anime Silver Spoon). I actually went and got Gouda cheese just to test and it turns out I was correct.
Osamano Wasuremono- Butter and cocoa cookie with chocolate filling
Butter cookie and chocolate cookie is a match made in sweet tooth heaven!
Mochitto Pudding- pudding flavored rice cakes
This is the best mochi I ever had, I normally don't care for them but these are great.
Hi-chew mini- ramune, lemon, grape, and peach flavored chews
These are your typical fruit chews but as fruit chews go they are good.

Premium Tier- You would get these and all previous tiers if you subscribed to the Premium Tier level(16-18 items including a drink for $35 a month)
Kit Kat Strawberry
These are great creamy strawberry wafers, but everything Kit Kat is great.
Hi-Chew Premium Melon chews
These chews are very melon flavored and juicy.
Takenokono Cheesecake- cheesecake flavored almond coca cookies
The cookies, and the soft chesecake flavored creme go well together.
Mini asparagus biscuits- butter toast flavored biscuits
These are full of buttery goodness. It's a shame they are only in Japan.
Chocolate Pie Kyo Matcha- chocolate cakes filled with green tea macha creme
This cake was strangely kind of bitter and the sponge of the cake was like eating foam but it was ok.
Pine Candy Gummies- Pineapple flavored gummies
I'm not a fan of pineapple but these candies are ok more sweet this sour.
Sour long cola gum
It has a nice cola flavor but it's not sour.
Pepsi Sakura
It has a nice cherry flavor to this soda. It made it think of sakura/cherry blossoms just by drinking it and the bottle design which I'm sure was the original intent.
Overall Review
This box didn't have anything extremely shocking, bad or interesting but maybe that's a good thing. Hopefully the next box will have more surprises!
