Japan Crate Feb. 2019 - Mystery Box Review

I'm back with another review for Japan Crate the subscription box where you can get candy, snacks, and a drink straight from Japan. The boxes come in 3 sizes Mini(5 items for $12 a month), Original(10 items for $25 a month) and Premium(18-20 items for $35). The crate I have again is the Premium level(I like the heart decorated box), but like last time we'll review the items by tier levels starting with the Mini level.

Mini Tier Level- These are the items you would get for the mini box level(5 items for $12 a month).

Shimi Choco Strawberry Shortcake- coated star puffs

Review: These star shaped puffs taste like strawberries and cream. They are nicely cream coated and sweet.

Mochi taro- rice snack

Review: This snack is salty, crispy, and zesty. It is nice to have a savory snack in these boxes though I am more of a sweet person.

Heart Chocolate-heart shaped chocolate

Review: This chocolate is dark chocolate and I'm not a fan of dark chocolate much.

Crispy Bar-crisped rice chocolate bar

Review: This is basically like the crunch bar in America though the chocolate is sweeter.

Umaibo Chocolate- Chocolate covered puffed corn snack.

Review: I like the chocolate but the puffed corn is a bit weird.

Original Tier-You would get these items and Mini tier items if you subscribed to Original Tier(10 items for $25 a month including a DIY kit)

Horadekita Chocolate Banana Soft Candy- DIY candy coated chocolate banana kit

Review: This kit was fun and easy to do. The kit just involves dipping the banana candy into chocolate sauce and sprinkles but it was a sweet combo.

Strawberry Mousse- Strawberry mousse filled chocolates

Review: These strawberry creme filled chocolates are sweet and creamy. I find strawberry chocolate to be second in the chocolate combo behind peanut butter and chocolate.

Marble Chocolates- candy coated chocolates

Review: These are just like the American M&Ms though they have different colors.

Rilakkuma Gum- soda flavored gum

Review: I don't know if each one had a different soda flavor but mine was a lemon lime soda. The gum even fizzed a bit at first to bring out the soda flavor. It was a nice unique gum.

Choco Taro- crispy corn snack with chocolate and peanuts

Review: This tastes like you took puff corn and covered it in chocolate, a strange combo to me but it was okay.

Premium Tier- You would get these and all previous tiers if you subscribed to the Premium Tier level(16-18 items including a drink for $35 a month)

Kit Kat Hojicha- Tea infused chocolate Kit Kats

Review: These exclusive Kit Kats taste just like fresh roasted tea covered wafers. They are a treat I never thought would taste any good, but these are amazing shame I only have 1 bag.

Mysterious Chocolate Banana Ball- banana cream coated chocolate balls

Review: These are like chocolate Whoppers with banana coating. The chocolate cookie is great with the banana cream.

Grape Roll Candy

Review: This is an all grape Fruit by the Foot. It is very chewy and fruity and if you love grape enough to eat 50cm of it then you will love this sweet treat.

Arigatou/Thank you Chocolate

Review: These are just like the marble candy aka the m&ms.

Hello Kitty Candy- Strawberry lollipop

Review: It was a nice sweet strawberry lollipop.

Angel Pie Strawberry- Chocolate covered biscuits filled with strawberry marshmallow

Review: The whole sandwich cookie is soft and chewy and very sweet. If you have a sweet tooth this is for you.

Apollo Petit Pack- mini chocolates with strawberry

Review: Nice and sweet chocolate strawberry combo

Hokkaido cream Luxury Chocolate milk

Review: The best chocolate milk I ever had.

Overall Review

This months crate was made for the chocolate lover in me. I also finally got to try a Japanese Kit Kat and had the best chocolate milk I ever had. I also love the many multipacks in this box, so I can enjoy more than just 1 serving. If you want to try out new foods from Japan I recommend Japan Crate.
