The Gates by John Connolly- Book Review

Another novel for Halloweenathon I just happened to find this at Fair trade Books and decided to get it based on the cover. So not much for me to say about it, just saw the cover and got it.
The Plot
Samuel Johnson and his dog come across 666 Crowley Rd when planning their route for Halloween. The owners don't see anything wrong with playing around with the dark arts until Satan himself appears with the gates of Hell. Can a young boy find a way to defeat evil and save the world as we know it?
The Review
I like how this book explains things that makes it seem as if the events taking place are possible. Samuel himself is a great child character and I enjoyed Nurd as well. Even the dog Boswell has a neat personality. I wouldn't say it was one of my favorites, but it was an okay read. If you want a book centered on Halloween, and demons making Hell on Earth, then take a look, The Gates are waiting.
