Where Am I Now? - Book Review
If you ever seen Matilda, Mrs. Doubtfire or the remake of Miracle on 34th St then you likely know who Mara Wilson was. This autobiography lets you know how she got into acting and why she left and even more personal stories like her family life.
Where Am I now? Starts with her days as a child actor and real life events that affected her acting. I also learned how different life in near Hollywood California then my childhood home of Minnesota, it honestly feels like night and day.
Later, we find her middle and high school life, and where she started to drift from acting, and made new friends and hobbies. Then, we go into more her current life of being a storyteller and net blogger. I don't want to think this is a normal biography as each story keeps you engaged and often has a humorous tone.
I never knew much about the girl behind one of my favorite childhood movies Matilda but now I do and I was interested in every bit of info I learned. This is probably the first biography I read since those days in school when reading them was required and not one of those did I enjoyed as much as this. I will gladly give this book an 8/10 for being a surprisingly good read.
