Wolf Children- Anime Movie Review

Wolf Children is from the creators of the Girl that Leapt Through Time, Summer Wars and the newest film Mirai. The movie is often told in scenes with music as it is an emotional piece. This is a movie on a family and their struggles to survive in a normal world while being different.

The Plot

Hana (the mother) fell in love with a man during college who turns out to be a werewolf. She loves him despite his differences and together they create two children, a daughter named Yuki and a son named Ame who inherit their father's wolf traits.

After the death of the father, Hana is left at a loss on how to raise her children in the city. She then elects to move to the countryside where they might have more freedom to show their wolf sides away from prying eyes. The problems aren't over yet as Yuki wishes to go to school as a human and Ame grows closer to the forest. Should the children live as a wolf or as a human?

My Review

I love this movie from beginning to end, and I start to tear up at the ending. If you are into heartfelt movies, than this movie is for you. I view this movie as a journey of growing up and trying to pick the right path in life(though I'm unsure if I did so). I happily give this movie a 10/10
