The last book was fairly depressing, but hopefully the final book will have an happy ending. Romance seems to be the theme this time so it will either end in tragedy or love will conquer all. Let's see if the dead have an heart in Lovesick.

Plot

Charlotte has one more task to complete before she can rest in peace. She must return to the place she died and complete a class project, but what happens if you fall in love with it? Charlotte may be willing to die again for love, but can she stand being invisible again?

Review

It's a downgrade after the last book, because the only issues this time around are relationship issues. When your only concerns stem to "will they get back together?" the stakes aren't very high. While this book was still fun for the characters, it didn't end on a high note or even ended the series. It just ended on another cliffhanger, but other than a couple of novellas/ebooks the series never got an conclusive ending. If you liked the previous 2 Ghostgirl books this is much the same and not much more.

After Ghostgirl I was wondering where the story can go from here as it seems everything was wrapped up, but here we are with Homecoming. Is the sequel just a cash in or contracted if the first did well? Let's find out if death has a sequel.

Plot

The afterlife isn't how Charlotte thought it'd be. She has to intern and help out troubled teens through an hotline. Before she can crossover, she has to help out a certain teen. Charlotte isn't exactly thrilled with the task as she has no clue what advice she could possibly give that'd be useful.

Review

This wasn't as good as the first. It expands on the afterlife, even if it's a depressing working dystopia. I do like it brought back Scarlet in a way that makes sense, and Charlotte truly learns to let go of the past and move on from the living. It has a more dark tone to the world than the first book that works, but can be so bitter at times that you almost want to read something else. If you want to read more on Charlotte after Ghostgirl then you will get what you ask for, but not much else.

Time for some Halloween(even though it's late) related books. I owned this book for a while after reading it years ago so, it's time to dust off the cover and revive this series for a read(I own all 3).

The Plot

Charlotte Usher is a girl invisible to everyone at school and despite her big makeover she didn't make an impact, kind of. She died at school choking on a gummy bear trying to talk to the guy she likes. No one showed up at her memorial so now that she is dead she is even more invisible than ever. It turns out the reason she still "exists" is due to an unfinished task she must accomplish what is this task and will she ever rest in peace?

Review

I kind of liked and enjoyed this book. It was obviously written for middle school to high school freshman, but it has a nice charm to it. Charlotte is your typical invisible teen, Scarlet is a punk/goth, and everyone else fits into their niche. I like the book quotes and mini lessons on life, it has before each chapter as it kind of adds to the story. If you like ghosts, teen drama, and comedy give this little book a read.
