This is the final book in the main Bob series and its more of a Christmas side story than anything. I do hope it has the same quality of story as the previous books and not only a cheap Christmas cash in. So how does the Bob series end?

The Plot It is the Christmas season of 2010 and the holidays are looking as bleak as ever despite James's friend Bob. They are struggling to make ends meet and even worse things are going down south health wise as well. Will James and Bob find any happiness this dreary Christmas?

My Review In this book I can understand why James never really got into the Christmas spirit until he met Bob but in this book he truly shows the spirit of giving. He gives cards to many of the people who made a difference in his and Bob's life not to get anything in return, but to show his thanks. If you want a touching Christmas story with a man and his cat then A gift from Bob is a gift indeed.

I just reviewed A Street Cat named Bob and now it's time for the sequel. This book takes place not long after the previous volume, and it goes into how James even got the idea to write a story on Bob and learning even before the book Bob was well known.

The Plot

James and Bob don't have it easy working on the streets as magazine sellers. Some days are great with new friends to meet and money to be made, but others can take a turn for the worse when people think you are neglecting your cat. James hopes to one day not have to work on the streets, but how can he get to that point considering his past and next to nothing in work experience?

My Review

I enjoyed this book as it shows how James got off the street for good and how he in turn helps people who are in the same position he was. The bond between James and Bob grows more in this book and tells how a man, and his cat can change not only themselves, but make an impact on the world.

Owning 2 cats myself, I enjoy true stories on cats. The Bob series as I like to name it, is a series I read a few times and enjoyed as the bond between James and his cat is a great one. Let's start with the book that started it, all A Street Cat named Bob.

The Plot James Bowen is London busker with a drug abuse past he is slowly recovering from. He is off the drugs and on medication everything is going okay, but life is still hard. One evening he sees Bob on a doormat wounded. It take a bit for James to realize he is the only one who can help and despite the lack of money he does what he can to treat the cat he names Bob. Once recovered and vetted Bob travels with James to his busking spot and they meet new people and have interesting experiences.

My Review This is one of my all time favorite cat stories. It's not often you get a good true cat story where the cat makes such an impact on someones life, not to mention pet stories that involve recovering from drugs. Bob not only makes a difference in James's life, but also in all the people they meet. If you want a good cat story on where a cat brings hope into so many lives then this book is worth a read.
